Thomas Halvorson, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, has joined the PMH Medical Center Surgical Group.
With nearly two decades of orthopedic surgery experience, Dr. Halvorson joins PMH from Spokane, where he most recently worked and served as chief medical officer at the Orthopedic Specialty Institute.
He was also extensively involved in the local sports community in Spokane, including serving as team physician for Eastern Washington University.
“Dr. Halvorson is an exceptional addition to PMH and will meet the growing orthopedic surgery and sports medicine needs of our patients and communities,” PMH CEO Craig Marks said.
Dr. Halvorson performs a range of orthopedic procedures including shoulder instability, cartilage restoration, knee ligament, rotator cuffs, tendon ruptures, arthroscopy and sports medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with an additional qualification in orthopedic sports medicine, Dr. Halvorson is nationally recognized for his education, knowledge, experience and skill within his medical specialty.
He earned his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he also completed an internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery. He also completed a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Halvorson joins the PMH’s growing number of surgical providers that, in addition to orthopedics, includes podiatric, general surgery, gynecology and ENT surgical specialists.
